Green Homes understands not everyone is looking to build a new home. We offer affordable upgrades and remodeling. A Project Manager will visit with you about your situation. We will assess and discuss different options available to you. Whether it is a simple upgrade, possibly new windows, or a more difficult remodeling project. All consultations are free.
Why consider upgrades?
Windows:
Can be one of your homes most attractive features. They provide views, day lighting, ventilation and solar heat in the winter. Unfortunately in South Dakota they can account for up to 40% of your heat loss.
Consider replacing your windows:
- Increases your home value
- Reduces fade (low-e windows block up to 98% of ultraviolet radiation)
- Improves comfort
- Reduces condensation
- Cuts heating costs by as much as 40%
Storm Windows:
Will help to reduce air movement into and out of existing windows. If they are not Low-e storm windows, they will still allow heat exchange.
Doors:
If your existing door is in poor condition or just very old, it will contribute to heat loss. Consider replacing it, however, if your door is in good shape you might consider adding Low-e storm door with new weather striping.
Roofing:
There are many options to pick from; currently there is a tax credit for certain metal roofs. Your Project Manager will discuss your options, including adding insulation to your attic space while replacing your roof.
